RestAreasNearMe.org uses facility photos only when a listing needs a visual. This page explains where those images come from and how licensing and attribution work. We do not sell, relicense, or claim to own third-party travel photos.
Google Places photos
Many listing photos come from Google Places. Those images remain subject to Google Maps / Google Earth additional terms of service. We show the attribution Google provides (for example Google / photographer name) on the listing and in structured data when the photo is eligible for search surfaces.
RestAreasNearMe.org does not grant a Creative Commons license for Places photos, and this page is not an offer to sell or license those images. Use this URL as the acquire-license / rights information page referenced from ImageObject structured data.
Competitor-import photos
Some listings may show a competitor-imported photo in the on-page UI when no Places photo is available. Those images are not used in Open Graph, Twitter cards, or JSON-LD ImageObject markup. Prefer Places attribution when both exist.
Attribution on listings
Visible credits and ImageObject creditText /copyrightNotice fields use the source credit we stored for that photo. We do not invent ownership names or license types. When a credit string is missing, structured data may say the image is attributed as shown on the listing.
See also Data & Verification for how we label sources and unknowns.
Takedown or correction
If you believe a photo should be removed, misattributes the creator, or was shown incorrectly, email info@restareasnearme.org with the facility URL, the image path or credit shown, and what change you are requesting. You can also use the contact form.
